Wilson Airport, Nairobi

A large cemetery in the middle of Nairobi.

Nairobi Wilson runway isn't too visible in the smog.

It's quite disconcerting to see so many battered old aircraft dotted about the airport.

Wilson is a very busy domestic airport and also handles a lot of UN planes on their mercy missions to neighbouring countries.

We were greeted by name as we disembarked and lead straight into the small departure lounge so we wouldn’t have the inconvenience (!) of checking in and clearing security again.  Our charming escort took our passports and did all the necessary formalities before returning about 35 mins later and escorting us to our waiting plane, pausing only to identify our luggage before it was loaded.  Safarilink really do have this down to a fine art.
