Lewa - Day 2 PM

Another lovely game drive, nothing particularly different but some lovely sightings.

This is Sophie's uncle's bi-plane which is available for hire but I think Ian's had more than enough with the 12 seaters.

Buffalo weaver nests

Lilac Breasted Roller

This female White Rhino's horn was absolutely huge.  I have many, many photos of rhino but their heads are always down and so if the grass is long not much use.  I suppose the weight pulls them forward always.

Her baby

Rather than pooing anywhere apparently Rhino have 'middens' and go to the same place(s) each time.

Greater blue-eared glossy starlings hitching a ride .

More Giraffe

This little creature is a Tree Hyrax (there are also Rock Hyrax) and funnily enough they are the closest living relatives to elephants, albeit distantly.

European Roller - I think Joseph told us that its colours would intensify after it had been here for a while.

Actually it looked a lot better when it turned into the light.

Golden Pipets having a bath as the light was fading.

Egyptian Goose and goslings.

A questionable choice of venue for our sundowner tonight given the Rhino just down the hill.
